Co-Op Cake is a site dedicated to reviews of co-operative board- and video games.
What is a Co-Operative Game?
In case you are unfamiliar with the term: in co-operative games, you and your gaming partner(s) work together to achieve a shared goal, instead of competing against each other. In other words, you always win or lose together!
In addition to focusing on co-operative games, we also make sure that the titles we review are playable with only two players. Furthermore, you can say that most of the games we review are so-called couple games.
We believe there is significant overlap between the board- and video game fandom, so we review both.
Why is a Co-Operative Game?
Playing a co-operative game has many awesome advantages:
- everyone gets to win together – no hurt feelings;
- the vast majority of good co-op games are just as good with two players as with more;
- there is usually emphasis on the story and the setting;
- it is a much easier way for non-gamers to enter the hobby;
- great for shy people, especially when it comes to video games: you get to play together without strangers watching and judging you.
Mission Statement
Our main mission (dare I say calling?) is to share our gaming knowledge. Because we write about a wide variety of games, we’re sure you will be able to find good co-operative games matching your taste, regardless of your gaming background (or lack thereof).
